Bowling: leading after first round of MAPFRE MSV Life Division 1

Only 2 points separate and rivals FINA as the league reaches the end of round one.  Both teams registered identical 6-2 wins to maintain the same gap. They also posted the 2 highest team scores on the last day, with FINA simply shining with a 965 last game including a brilliant 277 from Sue Abela. 

Turu's Knights remain a distant 3rd after their loss to FINA.  High game for the week went to Joe Cassar (277) with Justin Caruana Scicluna posting a great 682 series.  In the ladies, Cynthia Frendo Duca shot the highest series of 645. 


Mauro Anastasi and Sue Abela have the highest averages at the end of this round. Anastasi and Abela, will, together with Caruana Scicluna and female youth sportsperson of the year Sara Xuereb, be representing Malta in the Mediterranean Bowling Championships to be held in Malta in the beginning of April.


DIV 1. 60, FINA 58, Turu's Knights 40, Supersonic 38, Royal Shock, 36, XS Park Towers 34, Supreme 26, Strike me Jabaal 20, Mean Machine 12.

DIV 2 are still to play the last game in the round, with  Bank of Valletta leading from Blitzkrieg. MIA are in 3rd place

DIV 3: One 4 All are just ahead of PinPals and Greens
