A 59-year-old Gozitan woman was flown to Mater Dei Hospital after she was involved in a traffic accident in Xewxija, Gozo.
The accident took place in Triq Santa Katerina at around 4am, the police said.

The woman lost control of her Nissan Almera and crashed into a wall.  She was first taken to the Gozo General Hospital but was later flown by helicopter to Mater Dei.

Magistrate Paul Coppini has launched an inquiry.

Police investigations are ongoing.
