SIRENS GREENTUBE                  9
NEPTUNES LEO VEGAS            12
(1-2), (2-4), (3-3), (3-3)

Sirens Greentube were looking to avenge their loss in their opening fixture against San Ġiljan but again they fell prey to another title contender. It is becoming symptomatic of Sirens to have a slow start in their campaigns and the absence of John Brownrigg in the centre position is not helping them. On another note, Edward Aquilina scored seven goals in the game, four of them from penalties.

Neptunes had a typical positive performance as youngsters like Jake Muscat and Nikolai Zammit are continuing to establish themselves in the team and not it is not becoming a surprise that they are scoring more than their team-mates.

Jovan Popovic's team won the first session through goals from Jake Muscat and a superb lob from Nikolai Zammit. Edward Aquilina reduced the gap for Sirens. Neptunes kept controlling the game in the second session while Sirens were trying to stay in the game. Jake Muscat gave Neptunes an important 5-2 lead with a brace as both teams scored once before the end of the second session.

Edward Aquilina reduced the margin to two goals from a penalty in the beginning of the third session, but a minute later Neptunes opened an 8-4 lead after goals by Jake Muscat and Ken Erdogan. Sirens fought back and scored twice but Nikolai Zammit made sure that his team stay three goals in the lead.

Jake Muscat assured his team of winning this game as he made the score 10-6 in the beginning of the last session. Both teams had to play half the session with a player less, a decision that didn't had an effect on the game as Neptunes controlled till the end.
