A biker was seriously injured in an accident with a car in Qajjenza, limits of Birzebbuga.

The accident, which took place at around 1.30pm, involved a Mercedes being driven by a German man aged 82 and a Honda motorcycle being driven by a 58-year-old man from Marsaxlokk. 

An ambulance took the motorcyclist to hospital where he was found to be seriously injured.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello appointed various experts to help in the inquiry. Police investigations are ongoing
