Friday, 5 April 2019, 17:34 Last update: about 6 years ago

PN MEPs will show their competence and initiative to be the voice of pensioners in the EU Parliament, PN Secretary General Clyde Puli said today.

The PN held a meeting with the National Pensioners Association.

Puli said that the PN is drawing up its policies which give the elderly the importance they deserve. "The opposition is making its contribution so that pensioners will not continue feeling the pressure from the cost of living and constantly rising prices."

PN MP Claudio Grech said that the PN is looking at pension poicy along two binaries. The first is that current pensioners deserve adequate pensions, and the second is that the sustainability of pensions should be assured.

The Association also presented the PN with their manifesto for the MEP elections. Statistics, they said, show that soon 30% of Maltese will be older than 60.
