Two men from Somalia were seriously injured in separate fights in St Julian’s early this morning, the police said.

A 33-year-old man, resident in Zurrieq, was first injured in Bay Street at 3.30am. The man was allegedly hit by a bottle by an unknown person who had left the area by the time the police arrived.

Thirty minutes later, another Somali national, aged 23 and resident in Marsascala, was injured in a similar way, the police said, this time in Gort Street.

The two were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
