SIRENS GREENTUBE           6
VALLETTA VIDEOSLOTS     7
(1-1), (1-2), (3-2), (1-2)

Valletta Videoslots continued their positive performances in this Winter League as they got the better of Sirens Greentube in a tight game. The Citizens recovered from a negative third session in which they weren't dangerous enough.

On the other hand, this loss was the third one for Sirens. Despite having some good performances, they aren't consistent enough during the games while they lack a bit of flair in the centre.

After the first session ended 1-1, Valletta deserved to take the lead from Michele Mifsud in the beginning of the second session. Marc Grech equalised for Sirens but Peter Borg converted a quick man-up to put Valletta again in the lead.

Bogdan Rath's side had a 5-3 lead after almost three minutes in the third session, but after failing to take advantage from two man-ups, Sirens equalised from Edward Aquilina and Jake Ciantar. At that moment they looked to have the upper-hand and seemed to be the most likely team to take the lead.

Edward Aquilina put his team in the lead in the beginning of the last session. But Andrea Bianchi had other plans as he equalised mid-way through the session and scored the winning goal from man-up.

SLIEMA FRANK SALT              11
EXILES ELIA CATERERS           7
(3-1), (3-3), (2-1), (3-2)

After three consecutive defeats, Sliema Frank Salt managed to win their first three points, defeating Exiles Elia Caterers 11-7 in a quiet match. It was a deserved win for Sergio Afric's team full of youngsters. Goalkeeper Miguel Vassallo had a fantastic game in goal, filling in for their regular goalkeeper Joseph Sammut who was missing.

Exiles weren't sharp and dynamic enough in their attack while their defence wasn't solid as they usually when they are at their best.

Sliema had a bright start, winning the first session 3-1 and clearly showing they are the most energetic team in the pitch. Exiles clawed their way back in the game and after a minute a half in the second session they cut the distance to 4-3.

But Sliema scored two consecutive goals from Jacob Sciberras and Nicholas Bugelli. Sean Xerri de Caro kept Exiles in the game after scoring from a man-up following the sending off of Zach Mizzi.

A response was expected but Sliema kept controlling the game and widened the gap to four goals from Jacob Sciberras and Mark Meli. Kurt Griscti scored with 23 seconds left on the clock for the end of the session.

In the last period, Exiles responded twice to the goals from Sliema in order to keep the loss as low as possible, but a goal by Nicholas Bugelli gave a win by four goals for his team.
