The police are investigating reports of abuse in an elderly people’s home in Mtarfa, the government said.

The rape is alleged to have taken place this morning.

Earlier on Sunday, Net News reported that a 23-year-old cleaner who works at the home had been raped by a colleague at their workplace.

The government said that it was the home’s administration that had filed a report with the police.

The government said it is taking the matter seriously as it will not tolerate any abuse.
