Opposition Leader Adrian Delia said that he did not know about the meeting that PN MP Hermann Schiavone and PN General Council President Kristy Debono had with Yorgen Fenech, the alleged owner of the once-secret company embroiled in a government corruption scandal.

Asked by journalists whether he knew of this meeting, Delia said that he did not know that the meeting had taken place and that he was going to speak to both Schiavone and Debono but that what is most important is that all that there is wrong with the company 17 Black and all those who are associated with it, directly and indirectly, is investigated and that justice is done on all those who committed a crime.

He said that unfortunately there will be instances where someone can do an "error of judgement", but he reiterated that where there is abuse by the government that is truly damaging the country's reputation then that cannot be forgotten.

He said that the party’s stand against corruption is “stronger than it ever was” because the country needs that stand to be strong.

He said that the country must focus on what is paramount; “we have a government which is corrupt, we have institutions which have been hijacked, and in this country now we have democracy under threat – that is paramount”.
