Matthias Azzopardi was the overall winner of the Cassar Cup, an Event that was organised at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges on two qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets plus Finals Stages

This was the first time ever that the fifteen year old junior Athlete made it on the podium and he surely did it in style as he went for nothing less but the highest step to claim the first place overall.

Joining Matthias Azzopardi were Noel Scicluna who finished in second place and Ben Attard who finished third overall.

Azzopardi is coached by his father Patrick.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;

Matthias Azzopardi with the score of 47/50, Liam Sciberras 46/50, Joe Muscat 45/50, Noel Scicluna 44/50+2, Ben Attard 44/50+1 and David Gatt 43/50.

The official overall results were;

1^st Matthias Azzopardi 18/20 + 7/10 + 7/10 + 8/10 + 10/10, total score 50/60

2^nd Noel Scicluna 17/20 + 9/10 + 7/40 + 9/10 + 6/10, total score 48/60

3^rd Ben Attard 15/20 + 9/10 + 9/10 + 6/10, total score 39/50

4^th David Gatt 17/20 + 8/10 + 6/10, total score 31/40

5^th Joe Muscat 17/20 + 6/10, total score 23/30

6^th Liam Sciberras 14/20, total score 14/20

The top Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores;

 

Class A

1^st Joe Muscat 45/50

2^nd Ben Attard 44/50

 

Class B

1^st Matthias Azzopardi 47/50

2^nd Liam Sciberras 46/50

3^rd Noel Scicluna 44/50
