Early voting for European Parliament and local council elections

The Electoral Commission said that voters who intend to vote one week before polling day, owing to their being abroad or hospitalised, that they may personally call at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Counting Hall Complex, Naxxar, or at 28A, St Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, to effect the necessary sworn statement as from Monday 15 April, 2019.  The available hours are:

Monday to Friday:               8am till 1.30pm and from 3.0pm till 7pm.

Saturdays and Sundays:      8am till noon

These offices shall be closed on 19 and 21 April, 2019.

All persons are advised that the legal deadline to effect such applications by affidavit is noon of Friday 17 May, 2019.

Applicants must bring their I.D. or Residence Card.

The Electoral Commission further notifies voters who qualify to vote on 18 May that they must submit their voting document/s. Voters registered in Malta shall cast their vote at the Vote Counting Complex at Naxxar while those registered under Gozo shall vote at the Government Experimental Farm, Imġarr Road, Xewkija.

The Electoral Commission notifies voters registered in Gozo and who wish to collect their voting document/s from Malta and, vice-versa, voters registered in Malta wishing to collect their documents from Gozo, that they need to submit their written request as soon as possible but by not later than 6.00 pm of Thursday, 23rd May, 2019.

It is very important that requests are made personally by email to [email protected] or by application form, which form can be sent attached through an email.

Voting documents in Malta are collected from the Vote Counting Complex in Naxxar and, in Gozo, from the I.D. Cards Office in Victoria, Gozo.  Days for collection are to be from 20 to 23 May, 2019 and the voter must attend personally showing his identity or residence card.
