An Air Malta aircraft landed safely after it was involved in a bird strike event on approach into Lyon’s airport on Monday afternoon.

The aircraft is currently being serviced by technical personnel in Lyon in liaison with Air Malta’s engineers, the airline said.

As a consequence of the incident flight KM455 Lyon – Malta will be delayed.

Other Air Malta flights may also be impacted.

The airline said it is working hard to minimise any delays as much as possible.

Passengers are requested to visit www.airmalta.com and www.facebook.com/AirMalta/ for the latest flight information updates.

“Air Malta gives utmost importance to the safety and well-being of its customers and crew and apologises to its customers for this inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond its control,” the airline said.
