A marriage in Italy lasted a few hours after the groom was caught having sex with a male friend in a bathroom at the hall where the reception was taking place, Italian media report.

The disc-jockey who had been employed to play music during the ceremony has spoken about the incident which took place during a wedding ceremony in Abruzzo.

“They caught the groom celebrating in a weird way. He could not be found when it was time to cut the cake. They looked for him, thinking he was not feeling well or had gone to smoke a cigarette. But a relative of the bride later found him having sex with a male friend in the bathroom,” the DJ said.

There were no fights, he added, just the realisation that the marriage was already over so quickly. “The bride wept and the groom was not in good shape after being caught,” the DJ added. “The relatives came over to me to tell me to stop playing songs and I was paid for doing my job.”

“In my career of 29 years I had never encountered such an episode,” he said.
