The Nationalist Party’s campaign for the European Parliament election started on the wrong foot, as the first party billboard has to be replaced after a spelling mistake was noted in the message.

“Il-ħajja tkompli tgħola għalik”, (the cost of living continues to rise for you) was what the PN message said, accompanied by a photo of a woman looking at a list of items at a supermarket.

“Tgħola” should be spelt “togħla”, and the party has acknowledged its mistake and will be replacing the billboard in the coming hours.

LovinMalta quotes a party spokesman saying that two such billboards were put up and will be replaced later in the day.
