A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Sunday evening following a collision with a Ford Transit van in Sliema, the police said.

The accident took place in Tower Road at 10.15pm.

The biker, aged 25 of Swieqi, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the van is an Italian 57-year-old resident of Marsascala.

The police did not give the gender.
