Table Football: FISTF International Open and Grand Prix of Malta – Valletta 2019

The FISTF International Open and Grand Prix of Malta - Valletta 2019, was organised last weekend by Valletta Subbuteo club with the support of the Valletta local council and the Ministry of Finance - National Lotteries and Good causes funds.

The tournament was held at the King's Own Philharmonic Society in Valletta.

Athletes from 7 different countries participated in this tournament, Malta, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece and Scotland.

The individual categories of the International Open were held on Saturday.

The winner of the open Category was Mark Gauci whilst Samuel Bartolo was finalist.

The winner of the Veteran Category was Pascal Scheen and Mario Camilleri was finalist.

The U19 Category was won by the Greek Dimitri Dimopoulos and the French Theo Modeste as finalist

In the U15 Category the winner was Jayden Bonnici and Jeshua Bonnici was finalist.

Also, on Saturday the Grand Prix team event played the groups and then the semi-final and final were played on Sunday Morning.  The final was played between Valletta Subbuteo Club against Bormla Subbuteo Club.  Valletta Subbuteo Club won 3-1.

The Grand Prix Individual Categories were played soon afterwards.

The winner of the Open Category was the Italian Luca Zambello against Mark Gauci 2-1. 

The Veteran Category was won by the Italian Patrizio Lazzaretti against the Belgian Daniel Scheen.  The match was won by 'shots' 5-4.

Jurgen Balzan won the U19 category against the French Theo Modeste 2-1.

Thomas Ebejer won the U15 Category against Kayden Barun 2-1.
