Malta's national U-17 squad led by Karl Izzo yesterday defeated the Czech Republic 18-10 to get the third successive victory and make sure of qualification in the European Junior Championships which will be held in Georgia next August.

Malta gave another splendid display yesterday dominating their opponents and building a seven-goal lead by the interval.

Jake Muscat added four further goals to his tally, bringing his total to 19 so far in these qualifiers.

Like Jake Muscat, Sebastien Busuttil also scored four goals yesterday.

The other goals were scored by Gianni Farrugia who netted a hat-trick, Julian Farrugia and Mark Amir Carani scored two each, with the others from Benjamin Cachia, Jake Bonavia, and Matthew Chircop.

Malta ends its commitments today against the powerful Greek side, who like Malta has already qualified for the final European showdown in August.
