Need for long-term solutions on migration

Peter Agius Tuesday, 7 May 2019, 11:09 Last update: about 6 years ago

In a message outside the Maritime Squadron of the AFM, MEP candidate and EU veteran Peter Agius said that Malta is still at risk of massive migration flows from Africa, with intelligence reports saying that 24 million young Africans are planning the trip north in the coming years.

‘The Maltese people cannot put their mind to rest on irregular migration while the Labour government lost several opportunities to advance Malta’s agenda in this sector missing out on a Presidency of the Council and the Valletta Summit which left no result barring the ugly monument in front of Castille’ said Dr Agius

‘On 25 May we choose our representatives for the European Parliament. I will push for a bolder returns policy for those not entitled to Asylum and for massive EU investment in Africa to ensure that we give young Africans a future in their own countries,’ concluded Tajani speechwriter Peter Agius.
