The Armed Forces of Malta has rescued 85 migrants and are bringing them to Malta, the Department of Information said.

On Friday evening, the P51 vessel was dispatched to the location where a wooden boat was reported to be in distress.

85 people have been rescued and transferred on board the AFM vessel. The saved migrants will be brought to Malta and are expected to arrive by this morning.
