A €10 million grant to finance the refurbishment and modernisation of health clinics was launched today, with the funds deriving from the National Development and Social Fund, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said on Monday.

NDSF funds derive from the Individual Investor Programme, Malta’s passport sale scheme.

Speaking in Hamrun, Muscat also referred to the launch of the Equity Sharing Scheme, adding that the new rental market laws will be published soon.

Turning to the recent racially-motivated killing, which has led to the arraignment of two army soldiers on Sunday, Muscat said we have a historic chance to speak about integration.

“Integration is the solution, not fences and segregation. Integration starts at band and sports clubs, our schools,” Muscat said.

Referring to far-right politicians, Muscat said “we often see them on television and laugh but they have managed to inject their venom into our society.”

Speaking about foreign workers he said that there are shortages of Maltese workers in many sectors and foreigners are filling these gaps and helping save the jobs of the Maltese.

He also told his audience that voting for the PL’s EP and Local Council election candidates is like voting for him directly. “This is a choice between me and Adrian Delia.”
