BOV staff contribute towards San Blas Rehabilitation

Thursday, 6 June 2019, 11:12 Last update: about 6 years ago

Bank of Valletta employees recently participated in a dress-down day to raise funds for the rehabilitation project of Caritas' San Blas Therapeutic Community Centre. BOV staff members reported to work in colourful clothing and donated money towards the project.

Additionally, they enthusiastically took part in a photo challenge, and submitted fun group photos that were then judged by Caritas Malta for creativity and meaningfulness. The four teams that won the challenge, paid a visit to San Blas to observe the works in progress.

The teams, accompanied by Charles Azzopardi, BOV Executive PR & Marketing, were greeted by Caritas Director Anthony Gatt and residents of San Blas Therapeutic Community Centre.  The residents showed them the rehabilitation works and expressed their happiness at having their living quarters refurbished to modern standards. The residents also shared their life experience as well as details of their ongoing programme to the undivided attention of those present.

This project is truly a case of 'Together We can Colour their Life' - it is being funded by 'The Marigold Foundation - BOV in the Community'; BOV Executives who forfeited their directors' fees in favour of this project; Customers who participated in the BOV Cards for Charity campaign and BOV employees who take part in such fundraising events.  Its end-goal is for the refurbished facilities to have increased capacity and full accessibility and leave a positive impact on the psychology of residents whilst being more conducive therapeutically.

Bank of Valletta is a long-term supporter of philanthropic initiatives in Malta and has been supporting Caritas and their mission in Malta for many years.
