An 81-year-old man has been accused by the mother of a nine-year-old girl of touching her daughter inappropriately, Italian media report.

The incident is reported to have occurred during a Mass in a church in Arezzo, Italy.

An investigation has been launched after the mother reported that the elderly man touched her daughter’s private parts during the religious event.

The man denies the accusations.
