‘You shame us’: More pressure on Delia as posters affixed to PN clubs

The pressure keeps piling up on embattled Nationalist Party leader as posters were affixed to several PN clubs overnight: “you shame us” was the message delivered.

Over the past weeks Delia has been under the spotlight after the PN suffered two massive electoral defeats. He has pledged to stay on, but two lengthy meetings of the parliamentary group had him under fire from almost all of the PN representatives in the House.

Now an anonymous group of PN supporters has affixed posters carrying the words: “We want a leader that does not shame us” in the door of PN clubs in various areas, including San Gwann, Birkirkara, Mosta, Safi and Zurrieq.

The group has a direct message to Delia: “In 1987 with Eddie at the helm we beat the dictatorial attacks of the MLP and gave a future to the nation. In the last 22 months we have a leader who does not endorse our values. We the Maltese and Gozitans of good will want a new leader, one who does not shame us, who does not lead to in-fighting and does not waste time defending himself. We want a leader who unites us and leads us to save the country again. We can only win with righteousness.”

The group is adopting the same modus operandi - posters and banners affixed or hung on public places - as other groups calling for justice and the rule of law.
