A girl aged one year and six months died today in Turin, Italy, after being hit by a reversing car driven by her mother, Italian media report.

The girl, according to the reports, slipped out of her grandma’s grip as the car was being reversed in the drive of a residence in Villarbasse, in the province of Turin.

The girl’s mother, who was driving the car, did not notice the child who was hit by the vehicle. The child died on site.
