A Macedonian man was stabbed in St Paul's Bay on Monday evening, the police said.

The man, 58, went to the Mosta health centre at around 9.30pm.

The police said the man had been stabbed around 30 minutes earlier in Triq il-Korp tal-Pijunieri.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. His injuries were classified as serious.

Duty magistrate Gabriella Vella launched an inquiry. The police are investigating.
