PD calls on President to rebuild Malta’s credibility

In the wake of the vote of condemnation and no confidence taken by the Council of Europe on the performance of the government of our Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat, Partit Demokratiku has called on His Excellency Dr George Vella to intervene and to immediately set up the Convention for Constitutional Reform.

"This vote shames all Malta when Dr Joseph Muscat is so overwhelmingly voted as an incompetent Prime Minister who is not capable of choosing between right and wrong and governing in the best interests of the State," stated Hon Godfrey Farrugia. "This scenario could have been easily prevented, but the Prime Minister prefers to work within an anti-legal framework and cherry-pick when and how the rule of law is applied," he further added.

Partit Demokratiku has issued various press releases highlighting occasions regarding the rule of law. Below are a few of the more recent occasions.

PD noted that prime Minister Joseph Muscat "is not keen to have proper and effective checks and balances when Malta has a clearly broken and dysfunctional system that needs fixing. One can only speculate the reasons why."

Partit Demokratiku said will continue to "persevere in defending Malta's reputation and will work to rebuild its international credibility as we are slowly creeping into a one-party state".
