332 out of 514 public contracts issued by the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects in 2017 were awared by direct order, according to date tabled in Parliament.
Transport Minister Ian Borg provided the information in reply to a parliamentary question by PN MP Simon Busuttil.
The latter asked how many contracts had been awarded by direct order or through a competitive process.
Borg said there were 332 direct orders, 101 negotiated procedures, 43 open calls and 15 competitive procedures. Two were labelled as EU Grant, and 13 were classified as an open tender procedure.
