An application has recently been filed just opposite the St Paul's Bay Parish Church which will see an existing dwelling demolished and a four to seven storey development (including receded floors) constructed in its stead

The application envisages “the construction of a six-storeys development and a receded floor on Triq il-Parrocca and a four-storeys development including receded floor on Triq San Pawl.”

The application also proposes the extension of receded floor over the adjacent plot and construction of a receded floor. The proposed development would consist of a cafe with dining area at ground floor and basement level, and nine residential units.

The site itself is located in an urban conservation area, and the local plan shows that the area is designated for four storeys.
