A man was arrested by the police after an attempted robbery in Zejtun.

The police said that information was received at 2.30pm that there was a robbery taking place in a residence in Grand Master Perellos Street.

District police officers and members of the Rapid Intervention Unit went on site to investigate.

The man tried to escape the officers’ attention but he was caught hiding on the roof.

The police said he is a 40-year-old who will be charged in court on Monday.
