A biker and a pillion rider were seriously injured in a crash in San Gwann on Sunday evening, the police said.

The accident happened on the Tal-Balal Road at 9.30pm.

The crash involved a bike ridden by a 55-year-old man of Swieqi, who had a 54-year-old woman riding with him, and a Peugeot 308 driven by a 34-year-old woman of Zabbar.

The biker and the pillion rider were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
