A Maltese man was arrested during an attempted robbery in Gzira.

The case took place at around 5.30pm in Rue d’Argens, at a Convenience Shop.

The robbery attempt was foiled by members of the Rapid Intervention Unit. The man was allegedly armed with a knife.

Footage uploaded by One News shows a man being led away in handcuffs while shouting that he had been arrested “for nothing.”

While it was initially reported that a second man had fled the scene, it was later clarified that only one man was involved.
