A 10-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries in a car accident that occurred on Mgarr road, Mosta.

The accident took place at 12.55pm. A Toyota Vitz driven by a 71-year-old woman from Mellieha and carried a 10-year-old passenger, collided with a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 71-year-old man also from Mellieha, inside which a 38-year-old Greek man, a 38-year-old Canadian woman, a four year-old Canadian girl and a one-year-old Canadian boy were passengers.

The 71-year-old woman and the 10-year-old boy were taken to hospital, suffering slight and grievous injuries respectively. The 71-year-old man and the 38-year-old man also suffered slight injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
