In her vlog today, Labour head of delegation at the European Parliament Miriam Dalli explains the choice of new European Commission president Ursola von der Leyen, saying that the EC must use the next five years to address pollution, the need to find a balance between progress and the environment.

She insists that there is a need for improved social protection in a bid to tackle poverty issues, which includes the establishing of a minimum wage across Europe.
