A pillion rider was seriously injured on Sunday evening in a crash in St Julian’s, the police said.

The accident took place in Elija Zammit Street at 11pm.

The rider, a woman aged 22 of Naxxar, was on a motorbike driven by a 36-year-old man of Floriana. The biker lost control of the Yamaha and crashed into a Toyota Vitz that was parked in the street.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment. The biker suffered slight injuries while the woman was seriously hurt.
