Norwegian import Wilfried Zamble proved to be the match winner for Senglea yesterday as he scored the winner on 66 minutes when he deceived the Mosta defence with his speed to score a good goal.

Senglea were the better team in the first phase, but Mosta came back strongly in the second part where they had the lions' share of exchanges, and deserved a point from this game.

Senglea did the early running with Marukawa testing Vella with a low drive and on the other end Jallow failed to head home an inviting Morisco cross. On 17 minutes Mosta took the lead when Muchardi's through ball split the Senglea defence apart and Kotlov easily slotted home giving the advancing Curmi no chance to save.

On 25 minutes Senglea had a Virano freekick well saved by Vella but on on 34 minutes Senglea's pressure yielded the desired effect when Taisei Marukawa received a ball from the right from Leighton Grech, dribbled a defender before hitting beautifully past Vella in the far corner, for a very well taken goal.

Minutes later Mosta almost regained the lead with Roach's shot from close range just missing the target. In the remaining minutes of the first half Senglea had more of the ball with Virano testing Vella who saved in style.

On the resumption Mosta were more aggressive and Morisco had a scorcher punched away by Curmi on 50 minutes. Four minutes later Mosta going close again with Kotlov passing towards Gomes whose shot was blocked on the goal line by Todorovic.

Mosta were now all over their opponents and Curmi made a great save denying Murga on 66 minutes. Three minutes later Senglea took the lead almost against the run of play when substitute Wilfired Zamble darted to a long ball from defence to beat Morisco on the run and chip the ball over a surprised Vella in the Mosta goal.

This goal tilted the balance in favour of Senglea who started to play better, trying to get a third goal to seal the issue. Jan Tanti had a good run and a rising shot just over the bar, and Mosta went close to an equaliser on 83 minutes with substitute Zachary Brincat hitting over the bar from close range.

Mosta were unlucky again on 88 minutes when from a corner action, Tyron Farrugia's header was blocked on the goal line by Mano Micallef. Mosta's last desperate attempts on the Senglea fort proved futile as Senglea held on to their precious lead for the second consecutive win.
