Sunday, 20 October 2019, 09:00 Last update: about 6 years ago

During this month, visitors at Fort St Elmo can enjoy the opportunity to watch the historical re-enactment of the In Guardia parade.

This parade involves around 50 re-enactors who portray an authentic event that happened regularly in Malta's main fortifications during the rule of the Order of St John. The re-enactment includes the inspection of the Fort and its garrison by the Grand Bailiff of the Order who was in charge of military affairs. Moreover, all the participating re-enactors who are dressed in époque coloured costumes will perform a military drill to demonstrate the garrison's state of readiness.

The In Guardia historical re-enactments will take place on today Sunday 20 and on Sunday 27 October.

On these days, Fort St Elmo will open at 10am. The In Guardia parade will take place at 11am and at noon. The National War Museum will open at noon.

Tickets for the In Guardia cost €7 for adults, seniors and students and €3 for children.

The In Guardia and National War Museum ticket costs €15 adults, €12 seniors and students and €7 for children.

Tickets for the National War Museum only, at the normal admission prices, will be available on the day, from noon onwards.
