The Prime Minister’s former head of communications Kurt Farrugia did not respond to questions about Keith Schembri, Melvin Theuma’s government job, and the 2014 Azerbaijan trip.

The Malta Independent sent questions to Farrugia, who was Joseph Muscat’s head of communications for five years before becoming Malta Enterprise CEO.

Farrugia was asked whether he knew that the Prime Minister’s former chief of staff Keith Schembri was allegedly manoeuvring to give Melvin Theuma a government job, whether he was aware of any plot being concocted in relation to her death, and whether he was ever present in meetings between the Prime Minister and the Police in connection with ongoing investigations.

He was also asked about the 2014 trip to Azerbaijan with the Prime Minister and Keith Schembri in 2014. He was asked how many meetings were held during that trip and who these meetings were held with. He was also asked whether they were all related to the power station, and whether Schembri attended any meetings on his own, and If so, with who?

He was asked whether as a former colleague of Keith Schembri he felt betrayed by him, and also whether given all the news emerging about the OPM he feels that he should resign from your his current post.

The questions were sent to Farrugia on Tuesday early afternoon, with a request for them to be treated with urgency. A further email reminder was sent on Wednesday, while attempts to contact Farrugia by phone and through Whatsapp were also unsuccessful at the time of going to print.
