Thursday, 12 December 2019, 13:19 Last update: about 5 years ago

A protest is being held in front of the Maltese Permanent Representation to the EU, Dar Malta, calling out for justice for the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and for the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

Protesters are seen shouting out 'we want justice', 'shame on you', 'resign now' and 'barra' (get out) in front of Dar Malta. A large picture of Daphne Caruana Galizia has been placed at the entrance of the building. On the side, protesters have placed pictures of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat with the title 'murderers'.

Muscat is currently in Brussels attending his final Council meeting before stepping down in January 2020, following the election of a new Labour leader and Prime Minister.
