The annual charity swim in Sliema has been cancelled because of unfavourable weather conditions, the organisers announced on Facebook.

The sea at the Pier in Sliema has been deemed unsafe for swimming due to rough weather conditions; therefore the team, together with Civil Protection Malta have decided to cancel the event, the notice said.

Although we are saddened with this decision, safety is our main priority, the organisers said.
