Today Bank of Valletta management took the decision to close its operations at its Ibrag branch after one of its employees was feeling unwell.

"This was done in the best interest of its customers and its staff and the employee in question has been swabbed for COVID-19 and is awaiting results," a BOV statement read.

"In the meantime as a precautionary measure the remainder of the Ibrag staff are in quarantine until results are known."

The bank is liaising with the health authorities on a regular basis and shall be taking all the necessary measures in the best interest of customers and staff, the bank said.

"This temporary measure is affecting operations at our Ibrag Branch only and the bank will be taking all measures to reopen as soon as it is deemed safe to do so."
