Liquigas has agreed to drop gas prices for the 12kg cylinder to €15, following a meeting with the energy ministry.

Lower gas prices were announced on Tuesday by the regulator, however Liquigas said it would not reduce rates before meeting the regulator.

"During today's cordial meeting called by Liquigas Malta Ltd to clarify the situation regarding the price of gas, the Minister for Energy and the Regulator for Energy and Water Services  (REWS), understood the position of Liquigas, the main supplier of gas in Malta," a Liquigas statement read.

Liquigas thanked the Minister and REWS for appreciating its long-term operational circumstances, and following official clarifications, it was mutually agreed, that the price for a 12kg Liquigas gas cylinder will be that of €15.
