Liam Debono will be facing a trial by jury for the attempted murder of a police officer in November.

Debono, who was 17 at the time of the alleged crime in May 2018, will be charged with attempting to murder traffic policeman Simon Schembri.

Debono had allegedly driven the car onto Schembri in Luqa, and dragged him for several metres. Schembri was for a time in intensive care, and lost an arm after the incident.

The trial will be heard by Mr Justice Giovannio Grixti and will start on 16 November.
