Two men made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and top-up cards from a shop in Mosta after holding the cashier at gun-point, the police said.

The hold-up took place in a shop in Constitution Street on Friday at 6.30pm.

The police said one of the men entered the shop, armed with a firearm, and demanded money from the cashier, an Indian man aged 36 and resident in Cospicua.

An accomplice waited by the shop’s door.

The two then made off with the cash and top-up cards.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
