Wednesday, 16 December 2020, 16:10 Last update: about 4 years ago

Over 30 music students have come together to produce a Christmas song and raise funds for children in need.

Future Voices Studio is a collective under the direction of Iona Dalli and assisted by Marija Bellia that offers singing lessons as well as recordings and music production in Gudja. This year they decided to include the students in the final musical productions they release.

A project with the name of ‘Għażiż Milied’ consists of an original song, with lyrics and music by Dalli and Bellia. €400 from the participants were collected in order to be sent to children that suffer from cancer, in collaboration with the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

This money is usually collected in order to pay for the recording of the song. The song ‘Għażiż Milied’ is sung by over 30 students of Future Voices, while a music video was also voluntarily recorded by Kurt Cauchi.

These children also took the initiative to collect money they receive and give it to people who live in orphanages which are deprived of certain goods. “The children think that it is not materialism that brings joy, but the thought of helping others. In fact, the song delivers this message,” they said.

Up till now, the children are in contact with 9 orphanages and have already collected over 120 presents from the participants, their families and their friends.

Their appeal is if anyone want to join the cause by donating in order to buy presents for the orphanages, they should send an email to Ms Dalli on [email protected] or send a message on 79291704. With this information they can either send a monetary donation to buy more presents for the orphaned children or get the details of children from the orphanage so they can offer a present and send a heartfelt note.

The first set of presents will be donated on the 23 of December, and for those who do not manage to make it on time, another date was organised by them on the 29 of December. They appealed to the public to join this noble cause.
