Tremor in Sicily felt in parts of Malta

An earthquake in Sicily has been felt in parts of Malta.

The 5.2 tremor on the Richter scale was registered in Sicily at 9.27pm.

Other reports say that the tremor was 4.8-strong and its epicentre was in the sea just off the southern Sicilian coast.

It has been felt in several parts of Malta, with people taking to the social media to comment.

The tremor was reported in areas including Gharghur, Sliema, Attard, San Gwann and other places.

No damage has been reported.
