Police constable injured in Sliema traffic accident

A police constable was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Sliema on Tuesday afternoon, police said in a statement.

The policeman, who is 29 years old and forms part of the police’s traffic branch, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital after being involved in a traffic accident in Tower Road, in Sliema.

The accident took place at around 1pm, with a collision between the policeman, who was riding a motorcycle, and a Toyota being driven by a 30-year-old woman from Qormi leaving the policeman in hospital.

He was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
