A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drug trafficking and importation operation.

The man, who lives in Marsaxlokk, was allegedly importing drugs from Sicily.

He was arrested on Monday evening after the police followed the movements of his dinghy. The vessel was surrounded by officers at a Delimara quay at around 7pm.

Police found four kilos of cannabis on the boat, with a street value of around €100,000.

Magistrate Victor Axiak is leading an inquiry. The man is expected to be arraigned later on Wednesday.
