Amedeo Minghi concert in May
by GERALD FENECH

The famous and much-loved Italian singer and composer Amedeo Minghi will be performing a concert of his songs at the Valletta Waterfront on Saturday 13 May.

M&E Management Group director Massimo Ellul said his company was committed to bringing top quality artists to Malta and Minghi was the latest in a series of successes that were defining M&E’s track record.

He said the company will also be introducing a loyalty factor whereby those patrons who present a ticket for the Marco Masini concert in March will be given a free ticket if they purchase two tickets for the Minghi concert.

Dr Ellul said that M&E was also organising a Valletta Summer Festival at the Waterfront in July. Various tribute bands together with solo singer and renowned beauty Jessica Morlacchi will be taking part.

Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech said the number of large-scale events in Malta was growing considerably. He said that Amedeo Minghi is a popular artist both locally and internationally and such an event will also be beneficial for the tourism industry.

Dr Zammit Dimech said such events tie in with the ministry’s philosophy to make Malta an event-based location, to create an event-driven environment that links up with the contemporary cultural scene and the re-affirmation of Product Malta.

M&E's Events and Promotions Manager Mario Gatt said the string instruments accompanying Minghi will be local players. Minghi will be performing some of his well-known songs including La Vita Mia, Terra Nostra, Notte Bella Magnifica and Sognami and newer tracks.

Replying to a question by The Malta Independent, Dr Ellul said the open-air concert would have a capacity of around 8,000.

Tickets for the Amadeo Minghi concert cost Lm25 for VIP passes, Lm20 for seated standard tickets and Lm13 for standing standard tickets. They will be on sale (as of today) from Exotique Sliema, Baystreet and Valletta (Energy Complex) and all Maltapost outlets in Malta and Gozo.

The ticket hotline is: 79013333.

M&E also announced that ticket buyers who present the Marco Masini ticket at the group’s administrative offices in Kappara will benefit from the offer of a free ticket for every two tickets purchased.
