Sound Pressure Level competitions in Malta are extremely popular and the level in this sport has now reached international standards. Competitors take their participation very seriously and invest an incredible amount of time and funds preparing and tuning their cars to achieve the highest possible sound pressure levels. The systems that are incorporated in these cars are sophisticated and the interior decoration is so lavish that it is like being in the comfort of one’s own living room.

More than 28 cars have been entered into this competition, 11 of which will be modified. The SPL Sound Off competition will be divided into two main categories: Db Drag SPL, which, is sub-divided into several other categories and Street Beat, which is for streetcar installs.

Two judges will be monitoring the competition to ensure that all the rules are adhered to and to ensure the smooth proceedings of the competition.

Each category will receive a trophy for first, second and third place and there will also be the Burn SPL Sound Off Shield that will be awarded to the highest SPL achieved from all the categories.

Those attending this event will be given the opportunity to experience the loud sounds of these cars, always within the safety standards imposed by the competition itself.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Oktoberfest organised by PRES – Production Event Services. In its second consecutive year, the Oktoberfest, where beer is the main protagonist, will be boasting 34 different types of thirst-quenching beer, both local and foreign. People can also satisfy their hunger with delicious, mouth-watering food from the restaurant and other food stalls present at the event.

The Oktoberfest is also hosting a serious of other attractions including the go mobile Battle of the Bands, family entertainment and the children’s area, together with rip-roaring sessions from a six-piece Bavarian band which, with its lively music and art of performing will be adding to the festive atmosphere.

A special attraction at this year’s Oktoberfest is the introduction of the Crazy Bar. The Crazy Bar is very popular in Germany and the fun of it is in the unique way in which the drinks are served. It is a inimitable way of entertainment for an evening of fun and laughter.

The Oktoberfest is a popular event worldwide and this Oktoberfest is being held at the Naxxar Trade Fair Grounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
