The much anticipated McDonald’s Malta World Children’s Day programme of fundraising activities will kick off tomorrow, and will run until Sunday.

This event has become the largest annual fundraising event worldwide, with all proceeds in Malta going towards the McDonald’s Eden Foundation Children’s Fund. On Sunday, McDonald’s Malta will be contributing Lm1 from every Extra Value Meal sold towards this Fund.

Tomorrow, a fundraising spinning marathon is being organised at the Hilton LivingWell Health Club between 7 and 11am; at Cynergi St Julian’s between 9.30am and noon; and at the 24-hour Ta’ Qali Health and Leisure Centre between 11am and 6pm.

For a donation of just Lm2, all participants will avail themselves of a 45-minute session and the use of other facilities within these centres. Bookings at respective clubs are advisable. A football tournament is also being organised tomorrow for children under eight years of age coming from local nurseries. All proceeds will also go towards the Eden Foundation.

On Sunday, a celebrated schedule of renowned personalities will be making guest appearances within McDonald’s restaurants. Casts from popular local TV series, including Sfida, Sur Gawdenz and Tista’ Tkun Int and kids TV programmes, including Nannu Spagu, will be present, as will Ira Losco, who is this year’s Local Ambassador for World Children Day at McDonald’s.

McDonald’s Ronald McDonald will also be making special visits during the day. People will have the opportunity to meet these personalities, who will either sign autographs or work behind the counter in different McDonald’s restaurants.

In addition, the management and crew of each restaurant will organise additional fundraising activities on the day. Ira Losco will also host a concert at Tiguglio, St Julian’s at 7.30pm on Sunday. This will be her last electric set before the release of her unplugged album.

Everyone is invited to join in these activities and have fun while helping the children at the Eden Foundation.
